WHAT IS COFFEE SODA?
Coffee soda is the combination of your favorite coffee mixed with club soda. It can mimic the taste and smoothness of nitro coffee (without the need to infuse anything with nitrogen). While you can add coffee flavor or coffee syrup (or even maple syrup), most people find that there is no extra flavor or added sugar needed - which can be great if you're counting calories.
INGREDIENTS
Check out these simple ingredients - see why we love this drink so much?
Coffee
use any coffee that you love. We use store bought cold-brew coffee, but you could use espresso shots, regular coffee made in your french press or good old drip coffee. Some people even like to use instant coffee or decaf coffee. It really is all about personal preference.
Club Soda
You can also use soda water, seltzer water, flavored sparkling water or your favorite carbonated soda. We definitely recommend giving club soda a try first though.
Ice Cubes
Are you a true coffee lover? Some people go the extra mile and make coffee ice cubes (yup - they're making coffee at home and then freezing it into ice cube trays. This will really enhance the coffee taste.
Optional: Sweetener
You can use a splash of simple syrup or maple syrup if you need to make this a little bit sweet. We didn't find it necessary.
Optional: Splash of cream.
We actually like to make cold foam using cold Skim Milk to take this to the next level.
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1 - In a tall glass, add ice, coffee and club soda.
Step 2 - Add optional sweetener and mix well.
Step 3 - Add optional cold foam.
Step 4 - Enjoy!
Hint: Don't have a frother? Pour skim milk into an airtight container and shake well for 30 seconds. Let sit for another 30 seconds. Boom - you have cold foam.

Want to serve this simple recipe to a crowd? This is easily replicated in big batches by mixing in a large pitcher, and it's a great option for a summer brunch.
VARIATIONS
After you've tried this recipe with club soda, get creative and mix it up. Not only can you use different types of coffee (Hazelnut on a fall day sounds divine), you can also substitute the club soda for your favorite soda. Ginger ale is a favorite at our house, but you could also try Coke, Pepsi or even Dr. Pepper.
Want to go super crazy? Add a scoop of ice cream at the very end. Talk about making it a summer to remember!
