The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. The kids are usually in the local parade. We spend hours on the beach before walking home to grab dinner and get ready for fireworks over the lake. It’s family and sparklers; sunshine and friends; it’s splashing and celebrating; it’s playing and eating (lots of eating). It’s all the summer fun packed into one delicious day.
So, I’m teaming up with Florida’s Natural® Brand Lemonades to share one of my favorite summer drinks – a Frosted Lemonade. I love to whip up a batch with or without alcohol to add some extra fun to the 4th (or really anytime during the summer).
We only Drink Florida’s Natural
The key ingredient of this frothy, frosted drink is Florida’s Natural Lemonades. They come in five refreshing flavors, and you can choose YOUR favorite flavor for your frosted lemonade. They’re made from real ingredients and use real cane sugar with no high fructose corn syrup, artificial ingredients or preservatives.
How to Make Frosted Lemonade
This recipe could not be any easier – which is why it’s such a perfect addition to our 4th of July fun! Who wants to be spending time in the kitchen when you could be on the beach?
Simply combine three cups of your favorite Florida’s Natural Lemonade flavor (we used Florida’s Natural Lemonade with Blackberry) with 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk. Add 1/4 cup of vodka if you want, or leave it out altogether. Blend it well, and serve over ice.
I used to try to do a huge, elaborate cookout on the 4th of July, and it always ended with me feeling stressed and tired. As usual, I was trying to pack way too much into an already fun-filled day. Now, I know to keep things as simple as possible.
First, I start with our main dish. This is either cold fried chicken that I pick up from the grocery store or sandwich wraps.
Then I toss in 2-3 snack options – like chips or pretzels, some watermelon and dessert.
And, of course, Frosted Lemonades.
Easy peasy!
Our Favorite 4th of July Party Games
And, finally, I always come prepared with games. These 4th of July party games are so much fun whether you do them with a crowd or just your kids.
Summer dinners don’t get easier than this! Toss everything on one baking sheet and dinner is ready in 25 minutes.
