#1 – The Unicorn

Every child, tween, teen and even myself wants to be a unicorn this year. Why not create your own costume on the cheap?

First, you’ll need to purchase the following supplies from the Dollar Store. I’m linking to similar options on Amazon, but know that these supplies are all just $1 each if you have a Dollar Store near you.

You will need:

Total Dollar Store Cost: $26

Use the video tutorial above to create your unicorn costume.

My daughter is obsessed. And she has even said she might pair it with the princess skirt. How cute!

#2 – The Shower

Everyone who has ever seen the Karate Kid remembers the iconic shower costume, right? Why not make your own with these simple supplies from the Dollar Store?

First, you’ll need to purchase the following supplies from the Dollar Store. I’m linking to similar options on Amazon, but know that these supplies are all just $1 each if you have a Dollar Store near you.

You will need:

Total Dollar Store Cost: $7 (WOW!)

You’ll definitely want to watch the video for the tutorial on this one, but it’s super simple to put together once you get the hang of it.

Just play around with the grabbers once you have them attached. My son found it really easy to wear a backpack under the curtain, and stick the grabbers into his backpack. You could also put them into the waistband of your pants – or just carry them in one hand so that you have a hand available for candy (or your drink.)

#3 – Princess!

I’m calling this a Princess outfit, but it could also be used as part of the unicorn costume, or as part of a mermaid costume. Isn’t it so adorable? Can you believe it’s made using loofahs?

First, you’ll need to purchase the following supplies from the Dollar Store. I’m linking to similar options on Amazon, but know that these supplies are all just $1 each if you have a Dollar Store near you.

You will need:

Total Dollar Store Cost: $10

First, you’re going to cut the string that holds the loofahs together. This sounds more complicated than it is, but once you really inspect your shower loofah, you’ll see that it’s all being held together by one string. Simply snip it (you might have to snip it in two places), and your loofah will become one long ribbon.

Cut your ribbon in half to create 16 total loofah ribbons.

Then cut your wide ribbon to the length you need for your skirt belt. Make sure to leave room to tie it in the back.

Tie your loofah ribbons onto the wide belt ribbon, and you have a princess skirt. (Watch the video for more details!)

Isn’t it so cute?
