My entire family is obsessed with Jumbo Croutons. It has seriously become a thing at our house.
And they're so simple to make that I've been whipping up a batch every week to keep on hand for the countless times a day that someone wants a jumbo crouton.
Why do they want jumbo croutons do you ask?
Well, they're amazing to just eat as snacks. (Yes, we regularly snack on croutons).
They're also delicious in salads - because let's be honest - croutons are usually the best part of the salad.
So why not make them jumbo?
And - they're also super amazing for quick appetizers - or quick appetizers that turn into full-blown meals because they taste so good and why not?
Simply top with your favorite toppings, like Cotton Candy Grape and red onion relish (SO GOOD) or feta and tomatoes with olive oil or lettuce, bacon and tomato (mini BLTs anyone?) or fresh grilled tuna or anything else you want!
Or dip them in your favorite soup.
Or - like I said - just eat them plain.
Because jumbo croutons are delicious and make anything you put on them taste even better.
How to Make Jumbo Croutons
Ready to have your mind blown for this one?
Okay. That may have been a bit dramatic, but these are seriously so easy to make.
Take a slice of bread (your choice!) and cut it into four pieces. That will be the size of your jumbo crouton - so feel free to make them bigger or smaller based on your personal preference.
I usually make mine with whole wheat or multigrain bread.
But - the best part is that you can use whatever bread you like. So if you need to skip the gluten, simply use gluten free bread.
Need to go dairy or egg free? Use bread that is free from eggs and dairy.
Easy peasy.
Slice up 9 slices of bread total and toss in a bowl with ¼ cup olive oil, 2 tablespoons of kosher salt and pepper to taste.
Spread on a parchment-lined cookie sheet and bake for 10 - 15 minutes in a 350º oven.
It doesn't get much easier than that.
Then top with the toppings of your choice (or don't) and enjoy!

Grab a loaf of bread that meets your needs and turn it into jumbo croutons. YUM!
Storing Your Jumbo Croutons
Store in an airtight container for up to one week. My guess is they won't last longer than five days before your family eats them all anyway. If you've been storing them for five days and they haven't been eaten yet, send them to my house, and we'll eat them immediately.
I'm kind of serious.
