Instructions

Two Dash Mini Waffle Makers on a wood table. One is closed and one is open. Yellow pennant flag, three small disco balls and a succulent plant are betwen them.

Step 1: Plug in Dash Mini Waffle Maker and wait for indicator light to go off to show that it’s ready to use.

Two Dash Mini Waffle Makers on a wooden cutting board with disco balls between them. Hand holding can of Pam nonstick cooking spray.

Step 2: Spray both top and bottom plates with nonstick spray. You will need to do this with every single waffle.

Step 3: Place one dinner roll in the waffle maker. Close lid and cook for 2 minutes, 40 seconds.

Step 4: Using a silicone or wooden spatula, transfer the waffle to a cooling rack and let cool for 2-3 minutes to allow waffle to get crispy on the outside.

Handy tip: Use Potholders

If you’re having a hard time removing the waffle from the waffle maker because it’s too soft, use potholders to pick up the waffle iron and “pour” the waffle on the cooling rack. It will get nice and crispy as it cools.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use any dinner roll recipe or can for these waffles?

Yes, you can use your favorite homemade dinner rolls recipe, or you can purchase a can of dinner rolls from the refrigerated section. We like Pillsbury, but you can use the brand of your choice.

Do I need to grease the waffle maker before cooking the waffles?

Yes! It’s recommended to lightly grease the waffle maker or use non-stick cooking spray to prevent the batter from sticking. Do this between every single waffle!

How long do I cook the dinner roll waffles?

Cooking times may vary, but generally, it takes about 2-5 minutes. (Ours were perfect in 2 minutes, 40 seconds.) Keep an eye on the waffle maker and remove the waffles when they are golden brown. They will crisp up even more on the cooling rack.

Can I make the dinner roll waffles ahead of time and reheat them later?

Yes! You can reheat waffles in a toaster or oven to crisp them back up when you’re ready to eat them.

How many dinner rolls do I add to the waffle maker?

We found that one dinner roll made the perfect size waffles.

How do I clean the waffle maker after making waffles?

Wait for the waffle maker to cool down, then wipe the plates with a damp cloth. For stubborn residue, use a soft brush or cloth.

Can I use this waffle recipe in a larger waffle maker?

Yes, you can adapt the recipe for a larger waffle maker, adjusting the number of dinner rolls accordingly.

What toppings would be good for these waffles?

We think they taste amazing as is, but melted butter, syrup, fresh fruit could all be great options.
