How To Make Gluten Free Cream Of Chicken Soup (Dairy Free and Healthy)

This gluten-free and dairy-free homemade cream of chicken soup recipe is the perfect way to substitute a can of condensed cream of chicken soup in all of your favorite comfort food recipes.

  • 1/4 cup vegan butter
  • 1/4 cup 1:1 gluten-free flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 teaspoons salt


  1. In a small saucepan, melt the vegan butter over medium heat.
  2. Once melted, whisk in the gluten free flour to form a paste. Continue to cook for one minute, whisking constantly.
  3. Slowly whisk in chicken broth and salt.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil and cook for 2-5 minutes until mixture becomes thickened. Whisk constantly.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool. 
  6. Use in your recipe or store in the fridge for up to five days.


This recipe makes the equivalent to one can of condensed cream of chicken soup (10.75 oz can).
