Ingredients

  • Mashed Potatoes – these can be homemade, leftovers, powdered mashed potatoes or microwave mashed potatoes
  • Non-stick cooking spray
  • Dash Mini Waffle Maker

Instructions

  1. Make your mashed potatoes according to recipe or package instructions.
  2. Plug in Dash Mini Waffle Maker and wait for indicator light to go off to show that it’s ready to use.
  3. Spray both top and bottom plates with nonstick cooking spray. You will need to do this with every single waffle.
  4. Add a scoop of potato mixture to the bottom plate. Do not overfill. Close lid and cook for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Using a silicone or wooden spatula, transfer the mashed potato waffle to a cooling rack and let cool for 2-3 minutes to allow waffle to get crispy on the outside.
  6. Repeat steps 3-5 until all mashed potatoes have been turned into waffles.
  7. Enjoy!

Notes

GLUTEN FREE – Need these to be gluten free? Easy! Potatoes are naturally gluten free. If you’re using a package mix, be sure it’s gluten free.

DAIRY FREE– Need these to be dairy free? Easy! Use the dairy free substitute of your choice (like almond milk or plant-based butter).

ADD STUFFING – Are you using leftover Thanksgiving mashed potatoes? Why not add some of the leftover stuffing too? You can add them to the mashed potatoes for a fun mix, or just make stuffing waffles on their own. Yum!

OUR FAVORITE TOPPINGS – Sour cream, bacon bits, salt and pepper, melted butter, gravy, garlic, chives, cheddar cheese.
