The Secret to Getting Dad More Involved
As mothers, we become so in tune to the needs of our children that it’s hard to take the hands off the wheel and let someone else take control.
That’s been the case with me at least.
One day I realized that I was telling my husband all the time how to do x, y and z with Baby G. I was worried that it wouldn’t get done the way I always did it, which in my head, was done correctly.
Why then would my husband want to help with Baby G when I kept correcting him and would just takeover to do it my way?
The secret to getting Dads more involved in our kids’ lives is letting them take a turn at the wheel without passing judgement on how they interact with our kids.
And you know what? This really works.
As soon as I started easing up, my husband and I had less disagreements, we started to become a great parenting team, and I was learning things from him that helped me be a better parent to Baby G.
