My Life

The Day After Christmas

By  |

My Life and Kids Christmas 2011

It was magical. It was joyful. It was Simon’s first! Santa followed the signs from our fireplace to our Christmas tree and left some fun toys for the kids. “Big Minnie” has become an official member of our family along with a pretty cool garbage truck.

And now it’s the day after Christmas at our house. Only one of our three advent calendars made it beyond December 20th, the gingerbread house is in the trash {thank goodness}, and I’ve decided that my button snowman needs earmuffs… maybe tomorrow.

The kids are playing with their new toys. Even Steven and I are trying to figure out what to do with the old toys. We’re enjoying one last day of Christmas music and trying really hard not to eat every single Christmas cookie and piece of fudge in the house.

Hope your Christmas was as magical as ours!

Put the old toys away for a while and then rotate them back out, put some of the new away and rotate them back in.

This season was nice, but flew by fast! It must be that I’m getting older!! 😉

Looks like a very merry Christmas was had by all – I am also sorting through toys (stealthily – the kids never want to give anything away). And debating the value of ear plugs – Santa brought a drum set to my 5-year-old.

Sounds a lot like our Christmas, except we have one more day of celebrations today… I always dread the toy situation, where to put the new-way-too-huge toys, and what to do with the old ones. I love the idea of rotation, except we have no place to store toys in the meantime!… I’m glad you had a great one Anna and family! Try not to overeat today!! 😉

Great photos. Looks like everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We gave a lot of toys away in November, but now it looks like we could do it again! I’m going to put a few things away until the spring and if none of them are missed, out the door they will go. Love the big Minnie!
