You’ll be ready for fall with this super simple caramel apple recipe. The crispy, tart Granny Smith apples, combined with the sweet caramel strike a perfect balance in this simple recipe.

  • 2 packages individually wrapped caramels
  • 4 Tb water
  • 15 Granny Smith apples, small to medium
  • 15 sticks
  • cooking spray
  • wax paper


  1. Remove stems from apples.
  2. Wash apples and dry thoroughly.
  3. Remove wrappers from caramels and place all into a bowl. Add water. Microwave for about 2 minutes, stopping midway to stir.
  4. Lay out sheets of wax paper and spray with cooking spray.
  5. Place sticks in apple’s stem area. One at a time, dip each apple into the caramel and spoon caramel over the top. Lift out of the caramel and scrape off the bottom.
  6. Place on wax paper. Let sit at least 2 hours before serving.
