A Letter to Seventeen Magazine
Dear Seventeen Magazine,
In 1993, you put a call out for “regular” girls to send in their pictures to be featured in a future issue.
My mom did my hair. I practiced in front of the mirror. I sent a picture and waited to hear from you. I was positive you would choose me.
Eighteen years later, and I’m still waiting to hear from you.
Maybe your message got accidentally deleted from our answering machine? Or maybe someone was on the phone when you tried to call? Or maybe your letter to me got lost in the mail?
Here’s my updated contact information in case you need it.
