I have taken thousands (millions, maybe?) of candid pictures of my kids through the years. They’re running or eating or yelling – doing anything except trying to have their picture taken.
I love these pictures.
But sometimes I crave more professional-looking pictures. Pictures that I can hang with pride above my fireplace. Pictures where their hair is brushed, their boogers are on their bedroom walls (and not in their noses), there’s no food on their faces… you understand what I mean.
So a few weeks ago, I decided I was going to go for it. I let them know we were doing a photoshoot, and I got everyone ready.
It started out with shock that I was actually going to take pictures of them.
And moved quickly to total disinterest.
Followed by anger,
crying,
and pouting. (You can’t have a photoshoot without pouting, can you?)
But in the end, Simon reclaimed his status as the favorite child – and gave me this:
And now I remember why I don’t do this more often.
But aren’t their shirts absolutely adorable? I think so too!

We have a lot of pouting and crying around these parts, too!! So once again can relate, lol
I love the growth charts, especially the HOOT! HOOT! – SOFT PINK
BIRD & OWL GROWTH CHART
Cute pictures! This made me feel so much better about our last family photo session!
Thanks for sharing the website also! Cute stuff! Will keep them in mind for the kids and for gift ideas!
So I started making a photo calendar today (bc all the store-calendar-varieties pretty much suck) and as I looked through all my pictures from the past 4 years since my oldest was born, I quickly realized I wouldn’t have enough “calendar worthy” shots. I totally decided to do an entire outtake calendar. Some pictures have fingers up the nose, no one is looking at the camera, a good number are blurry, but my favorites are pictures of random walls (I promise someone was standing there doing something really cute just moments before) and of course, pictures taken by a 3.5 yr old that has one of her fingers partly covering the lens! I can’t wait til it gets here!
Love those tees! And your photos totallly do them justice. Really, honestly. Yeah.
