Made with graham crackers and yogurt, these frozen yogurt sandwiches could not be any easier to make or any more delicious. My kids are obsessed with them, and we’ve actually had to hide them from my husband so that he saves some for the rest of us. If you get tired of your kids always asking what’s for dessert, this frozen yogurt sandwich recipe is your answer! You’re welcome.
When I was a little girl, my mom would whip up some homemade frosting and make graham cracker and frosting sandwiches for dessert most nights of the week.
This was before anyone worried about things like calories or sugar. It was long before Oprah invented carbs.
I really miss the 80s.
Now that I have kids, I find myself always trying to balance their sugar intake with their enthusiasm for dessert. And most nights we just don’t have dessert, and it’s fine.
And by fine, I mean that my kids are living a very flat and dull existence and have no idea that in homes across the nation children are getting giant globs of dessert every single night of the week and that their Yia Yia (my mother) used to whip up homemade frosting on the daily for our dessert.
My poor children.
These frozen yogurt sandwiches are my equivalent of frosting sandwiches. And my kids say they taste EVEN BETTER than frosting sandwiches. (Not that they’ve ever had one, but whatever.)
And my husband who is usually ultra disciplined realized that these require no discipline because they’re not bad for you at all, and now we have to hide them from him if we want to save any for ourselves.
So. Am I saying that this recipe will take your children’s lives from drab and dull to full of color and excitement and joy?
Yes. Yes I am.
How to Make Frozen Yogurt Sandwiches
Are you ready for this? It’s a little complicated, so I want to make sure you stay with me.
First, you’ll want to take a box of graham crackers.
Break each sheet of graham crackers into two squares. <– THIS IS THE HARDEST PART. YOU CAN DO IT!
Then, put one spoonful of your favorite yogurt flavor in the middle of one of the graham cracker squares. Put another square on top to make a sandwich.
Freeze for at least two hours.
PS – I will say that you can choose any yogurt flavor you like, but we have been using chocolate-flavored Whips, and it’s AMAZING.
