How to Make Fart Sounds

Want to know how to make the best fart sounds?

Then you’re in luck.

I’ve been researching, testing and compiling the very best tutorials on how to make the juiciest, most realistic, hilarious fart sounds ever. You’re welcome.

I have yet to find a tense situation that can’t be alleviated by a good, juicy fart. And now you’ll know several ways to make fart sounds – without the smell.

Make Fart Sounds with a Straw

My go-to bedroom trick (and party trick) for the past 12 years, has been the good old straw-in-your-armpit technique. Here’s a video to show you exactly how it’s done.

And – yes – my dad can use TWO straws – because he’s just that awesome.

Upon doing further research, I also discovered you could make fart sounds by putting that same straw in your elbow.

Although I found this to be a little more obvious than a straw hidden in your turtleneck.

And in case you’re super flexible, you can also stick that straw into your knee.

Clearly – this one was tough for me.

If you want to use your imagination, there are a few other places you can stick the straw to get a good fart sound.

I will not be sharing those ways here.

Moving on…

Make Fart Sounds With Your Hands

You don’t need a straw to make a great fart sound. If you have two hands, that will work too.

This little guy is absolutely adorable – and if you squeeze hard enough – his technique works (and that’s NOT what she said – get your head out of the gutter):

Make Fart Sounds With Your Mouth

I have to say, I think these make some of the juiciest farts around. Even Steven does something like this every single time I bend over.

I’m serious.

Every single time I bend over.

Do you know how many times I bend over in a day? Like a million. And every single time, I am reminded that I’m married to a 12-year-old boy.

This guy dominates at juicy farts.

And these girls are total goofballs, but they can rock this fart sound like no other.

And this is just too easy – blow into your elbow and pffftttt – juicy fart.

  1. My husband s so similar to yours on this and the fart jokes are rampant in our house. Plus add two potty trained little girls to the mix and it fart and poop talk all the time. Seriously, though when I played the first video, I got asked by my husband what I was watching after all fart stories daily!! Go figure 🙂

  2. There’s no getting around it – farts are just funny. I was worried that over the years I had just been corrupted by my boys, so it’s nice to see someone else celebrating the simple humor of a good juicy fart sound.

  3. Why do I have a feeling this post has “going viral” potential??!! 12 year-olds boys everywhere will be searching for this on Google! 😉 Seriously, though, this is funny, and I plan to show my girls later because they are ALL about potty humor these days!

  4. Favorite sound on the fart sound board “Donald loves Daisy”… hilarious!!!

  5. Oh my LORD, that paper video was theee most hilarious because of how SERIOUS the guy sounds. I watched it twice.
    WELL DONE!

  6. Ha, my husband loves to make the fart sounds if I, or anyone, bends over. Also, my brother loves to follow me around in a store with the goop in a can aka fart in a can in his pocket, all the while yelling out my name in disgust and running to the next aisle.

When my brother was the manager at his old job, he hid a pretty realistic sounding, remote controlled, fart machine hidden in the plant in the customer’s bathroom. Of course whenever a customer would go in he would push the controls and die laughing as he watched their faces when they came out.

There is seriously nothing like the talking of farts to get me uncontrollably giggling.

  7. I haven’t even clicked on any of the links yet and it’s going to be forwarded to my husband because I KNOW he will bookmark the page for future fun and laughs. His default google search when running tests after fiddling with his Linux system is “fart.” St. Nicholas gave him a keychain fart noise maker with 8-different fart noises. His Christmas gift last year from our then 4-year old daughter was a whoopee cushion. It was replaced by a self-inflating one mid-year after much fun put a tear in the seam.

  8. Thank you for the entertainment…hahaha

  9. Brilliant. And wicked funny.

  10. Jo’s husband here. Jo is doing it NOW while breastfeeding our daughter! Think she might wake the boys up in the next room. “This is too cool!”
    Gee – cheers for this!

I have two daughters, so we have not done any serious research on fart sounds. But now you’ve gone and done that for me. And my life is now complete.

  14. You are hilarious, such a well researched post :).

  15. This is awesome-you should get an award for all that fart research. No one will ever have to search around again for fart noise information. This is too funny, because someone found my blog by typing in “homemade farts” as a search engine term. If only I could find that person and direct them to you. 😀

  16. This is very fascinating, You’re an overly professional blogger. I’ve joined your rss feed and stay up for seeking more of your great post. Additionally, I’ve shared your web site in my social networks

  18. That is the most complete compilation of fart noise tutorials ever!! My 14 year old and his buddies like the straw in the armpit the best and they have these weird funnel things that amplify sound. When they’re in the car, I pray that I don’t get the red lights because they love entertaining the traffic around us!! Hilarious post!!

  19. I had to text my brother about this. We used to drive to work together and die laughing for the hour it took to get there. Once a friend of his let him borrow a “fart compilation” cd– he laughed so hard I had to pull the car over so he could vomit.
Of /course/ my 4-yr old and I are going around the house gathering bendy straws to go practice our “farting” for when hubz gets home, as well. So glad I found your blog!

  20. Can you be more specific about the content of your article? After reading it, I still have some doubts. Hope you can help me.
